We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who attended last night’s wine tasting for coming out and supporting our business! We also want to extend a special thank you to Piero for bringing by some fantastic Italian wines. Here are all of the wines we had on display last night, which are now available for purchase. Savion Vini “Evento” Rose Merlot made in the Veneto region of Italy: This wine features a delicate bouquet and is well balanced in acidity. It has flavors of cherry and black currant and is often described as silky and elegant on the palate. Spiaggiole Morellino di Scansano, Sangiovese made in the Toscana Region of Italy: The Aroma reminds of ripe cherries and fresh fruit salad. An elegant taste with vibrant tannins, it is well-balanced with a long finish, with the expression of long ripeness and sunshine and a fresh aftertaste. Italo Cescon, Pinot Noir made in Veneto, Italy: This ruby-red Pinot Noir has an elegant aroma which suggests fruit and rose petals. The predominate flavors are those of red cherry, vanilla, and nutmeg. It is full-bodied and rich but not heavy, high in alcohol, yet neither acidic nor tannic, with substantial flavor despite its delicacy and a soft, velvety texture. “Hyspa”, Cab-Sauv, Cab-Franc, Petite-Verdot, Syrah, from the Poggio Graffetta winery in the Sicilia region of Italy: This wine shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of ruby red, moderate transparency. The nose reveals intense, clean, pleasing and refined aromas which start with hints of plum, black currant and black cherry followed by aromas of violet, vanilla, tobacco and carob. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors, pleasing roundness. The finish is persistent with flavors of plum, black currant and black cherry. Half of this wine ages for 6 months in barrique. Peach Moscato by La Passione made in the Piemonte region in Italy: This wine is sweet, sparkling with intense aromas and flavors of freshly picked peaches. Also, watch out for our other upcoming events such as Matt Wright’s (Lanoca Coffee Company) Coffee Talk on November 19th, as well as our next wine tasting hosted by Matt Corson on November the 27th. We look forward to seeing you all there!
