Our formal wine tastings are on Tuesdays at 5:00p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required for Tasting Tuesday since capacity is still limited due to COVID. If you stop by on another day…we always have something open and ready to sample!
When we bought our business in 2018 it was known as 692 Olive, with a web address of www.692olive.com. We received immediate feedback from customers that the numbers, taken from the street address at 692 E. Arlington Blvd., were hard to remember. ???Olive, (random number)Olive and the dreaded xxxOlive were not exactly search terms that helped customers find us. Our son Ian said “Why don’t you call it “Simply Divine Oil and Wine”, since that’s what it is?” Family meeting adjourned!!!
Our extra virgin olive oils are sourced from individual farms on a seasonal basis. Half of the year we have Northern Hemisphere crushes and the other half of the year we have Southern Hemisphere crushes. In the North we usually have olive oils from the U.S, Italy, Spain, France, Greece, and others. From the South we usually carry Australian, Chilean, and South African olive oils.
Biophenols are the natural antioxidants found in Olive Oils. When we display the Biophenols count of our oils we are telling our customers how many of these antioxidants are present in the oil at the time of crush.
The best way to store your product is going to be at room temperature in a dark place, away from sunlight or heat.
Of course, we host all sorts of events. Give us a call or let us know more about your event and we’ll help you make it awesome!
Our extra virgin olive oils or EVOOs are seasonal, which means we will only have access to a certain EVOO for half of the year. The EVOOs also change from year to year depending on the olive crop from that year.
Each bottle is filled with a single olive oil or balsamic vinegar. The two cannot be in the same bottle since vinegar will damage an oil over time.
Yes, you can. However, you will not be getting fresh, pure, first cold pressed olive oil. You will get a mixture of several different olive oils amalgamated together. Not only does this ruin the flavor of the oil, it also means a lower chemical standard for that oil. Our oil is chemically tested and approved as Ultra-Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Instead of the regular “olive oil” you can purchase at the grocery store, our oils are single origin, with different varietals having different flavors and distinct aromas not found in store bought mixtures. There’s a reason grocery stores don’t let you taste what’s inside the bottle and we do!
