Charles Bieler and Joel Gott have been making The Show Malbec since all the way back in 2009, and credit that venture with expanding their knowledge of malbec, Mendoza, and wine making in general, and decided to revamp the whole project in 2017 to incorporate all the information they had learned over the years. Since then they have been sourcing the grapes for this wine from several vineyards in the area, reaching higher into the elevations of the Uco Valley. Coupled with a slower wine making approach this allowed them to strengthen the spice, structure, and clarity of the fruit character of this wine. Of course this newfound expression would require a new label to project clearly the majesty of Mendoza and all these wonderful vineyards have to offer with a jaw dropping photo of the landscape. This wine is a deep red, nearly purple color, with aromatics of concentrated black fruits, cigar box and notes of barrel toast. Dark fruit, spice and rich flavors continue on the palate. Quite brooding, but pure and focused. The tannins are super integrated and soft, but with terrific balance and finish that gives it unusual length in the palate.
